UK-based Extreme Fliers has just launched a new IndieGogo campaign to fund their new drone – the Micro Drone 3.0. The Micro Drone 3.0 is a small quadcopter that can fit in the palm of your hand. Let’s do a rundown on the features of this drone.
- Auto Leveling in flight
- Inverted Flying
- Sensor assisted flying
- Can withstand 45 MPH winds
- Live Stream video
- Stream to FPV Headset
- Record to 720p
- Easily Customizable/Expandable
- Control via radio (range of 300 ft) or smartphone (range of 50 ft)
The Micro Drone 3.0 seems to be built for consumers looking for a small, light drone that will work for filming aerial videos. The sensors help keep the drone level for smooth images.
The claims that the drone will be able to handle winds of up to 45 MPH are truly remarkable, we’ll have to see that to believe it. It would be unusual for such a small quadcopter to operate well in such conditions.
Apparently you will also have the ability to flip the quadcopter and fly it upside down… I’m not quite sure who this feature appeals to, but maybe some customizations we’ll see later will explain why this would be interesting.
Quick-changeable batteries are a welcome addition that we sometimes don’t see in smaller quadcopters. With flight time of only up to 8 minutes, you’ll probably need extra batteries too.
There’s a lot more to read about on the IndieGogo page. You can pre-order the Micro Drone 3.0 for just $150, and they plan to have these shipped by this November – just in time for the holidays!
